The Aquinas Old Collegians Football Club was saddened by the loss this week of Con Hickey, father of former player John and a man well known to many people in the Aquinas community.
While never having served on the Committee of the club, Con organized and chaired the very first Formation meeting in the Our Lady’s Hall back in 1981.
He was able to enlist a full committee that night and gave direction and purpose to what was at that time, just an idea.
We should all be grateful for his efforts.
Con was 79 and died after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
