John Rogers died 25.6.19 aged 86
John was the Father of premiership captain, 200 game player and life member Craig and grandfather of the Rogers boys who run water and the boundary on match day.
Few people in our club’s history have left such an indelible mark as John. He was the illustrator of those wonderful caricatures that adorn the walls of our club room. Other than a premiership medallion, a John Rogers original was the most coveted award on presentation night. John would decide who he would draw and present to, usually whom he thought was best in a final.
John also possessed a loud booming voice which could be heard all over the ground whenever Aquinas and Craig played. He could easily be heard as he offered encouragement to all Aquinas players, suggestions for the opposition and advice for the umpires.
RIP John
