Hi Bloods Family,
The last 2 1/2 years being the AOCFC President has been fantastic, rewarding, stressful and challenging, and sometimes all at the same time ! My recent change of employment has meant I will be working longer hours including on weekends and will struggle to get to games and many planned functions. As the role of President has so many facets I do not believe I have the time to be able to properly fulfil all that the role requires. So with a heavy heart, I have decided to step down now as the Club’s President.
This will allow me to focus my efforts on one super important role for the Club’s future – the JW Manson Pavilion development, which is already requiring lots of time and energy to work with our co-tenants St Andrew’s Cricket Club, as well as the Maroondah Council, etc.
The Club continues in very good hands with the General Committee approving Ian Shaw’s offer to fill the role of President till the end of the 2022 season and Jack “Stats” McDonald stepping into the Vice President role, now that Abbey Starling has taken over as the Club’s Secretary.
I look forward to seeing you all at the Club playing, barracking or enjoying each other’s company during 2022, and wish The Bloods Family every success on and off the field. And let’s bring on the exciting new Pavilion in 2023 !!
Chris “Joffa” Jeffrey
Statement from the Committee
“We wish Joffa well with his new job, thank him enormously for the incredible role he has played over the past 2 1/2 years through ridiculously difficult times and look forward to seeing him as often as he can around the Club.
We are also rapt that Joff is going to stay on and focus his efforts on the important role for the Club’s future – the JW Manson Pavillion development, and continue his great work with our co-tenants St Andrew’s Cricket Club, as well as the Maroondah Council.
Thankyou Joffa, you’re a ripping bloke with a huge heart that pumps RED BLACK AND GREEN BLOOD through and through!”
