Another week another mixed bag for The Bloods as the Men managed 2 big wins over Manningham, the Women struggled against Collegians and the U19s got rolled by Marcellin.

Senior Men

A slow start against the struggling Manningham meant a 9 point deficit at 1/4 time as we battled for early momentum.

From 1/4 time onwards we starting working into the game better but there was still some polish to add.

The half time message from Senior Coach Jarrod Fisher seemed to work as we outscored the Cobras 11 goals to 2 after the main break and really started to play our brand of footy.

4 goals apiece to Michael Di Donato and Luke Harley were the highlight while Michael Di Donato, Lachie Robb & Josh Glennie were best on ground.

Reserves Men

A good 100 point win from the Reserves, there is still plenty to work on but we are heading in the right direction.

Aaron Kinghorn in his 295th game and David Malvaso shared the spoils with 6 goals apiece while Leon Holewa at Centre Half Back was best on ground.

Senior Women

Hoping for a win to stay in touch with the top 4 the Women travelled across town to Albert Park to take on Collegians.

It was a tough old day as they came up against a well drilled home team who played their ground to perfection.

Failing to trouble the scorers was probably not a fair summary of the game as we matched it for long periods however lacked potency up forward.

Sienna Jones was best on ground after being given a tagging role after 1/4 time and completely shutting out her opponent for the rest of the game.

Reserves Women

Coming into the game winless and against an opponent who had not won by less than 8 goals all season we were hoping for a good showing and that’s exactly what we got.

Despite the score line it was easily our best game of the season and if we bring that energy to the game this weekend we will be more than a good chance of our first win for the season.

We are slowly starting to develop our game style and are playing as more of a squad and it’s starting to show.

Under 19’s

No match report supplied.

Lost by 40 points to Marcellin in the early game.
