The 2015 Vote Count was held on Saturday 12th of September in the club rooms with over 50 players in attendance. As always it was a terrific day for all involved and both counts went down to the final round before we knew who the winner was.
In the senior count club captain Lachy Barnes won the award, but only after overtaking former captain Nick Morrison-Story in the final round of the season. Lachy had a spectacular year again at Centre Half Back leading the club in many key defensive statistics as he continuously shuts down the opposition’s most dangerous forwards.
It is Lachy’s second senior Best & Fairest award after winning it in 2011 and his third at the club after he won the U19 award in the premiership year of 2008. Lachy really sets the example at the club and is probably the hardest working and most dedicated player at the club. This shows on field with his consistently high level of performance. He is the type of player that the entire playing group must model their efforts after if we want to get serious about moving up the grades of the VAFA.
The topĀ 5 in the count were:
1st – Lachy Barnes
2nd – Nick Morrison-Story
EQ 3rd – Jai Perrett, Phil Jurkovsky, Jo Morrison-Story
In the Reserves Best & Fairest Jacob Kogelman was a deserving winner. Jacob set the example all season playing through the middle of the ground and sometimes sneaking forward for a goal at crucial times. He continually put his battered body on the line to get the ball out to the skilled ball users and this didn’t go unnoticed by those giving the votes.
The topĀ 5 in the count were:
1st – Jacob Kogelman
2nd – Aaron Kinghorn
3rd – James Morris
4th – Luke Brouwer
5th – Ben Adam
